You may remember seeing little snippets of Allison & Peter’s wedding or their engagement session already, but I just couldn’t resist putting together a bigger blog post. I swear, if I were to plan my wedding all over again, this is pretty much exactly what it would look like. We spent the majority of the day at the Sugar Grove Vineyard in Newton, IA, which is where their reception was held. Even though this is only the first wedding I’ve shot there, it is already WAY high on my list of favorite places to shoot! Gorgeous! We started the day finishing up with their preparations and quickly headed out to do Aly & Peter’s first look, where he surprised her with a personal letter and a pearl necklace. It took all we had to keep shooting and not tear up as she read the letter.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer 011 The Cutest Iowa Vintage Vineyard Wedding! Next, we ventured through the property and found place after place after place to shoot. I think I did my happy shooting dance at least a dozen times that day!

After their beautiful ceremony we got some time with their bridal party too. They were all so much fun!

I’m normally not one to post jumping shot pictures… But, if your wedding party is dead set on risking life and limb to do a jumping shot on a hay bale, that sucker is getting posted on the blog! Thankfully, no one was injured for that shot!!

Not much commentary necessary on my part for the party shots… this was a great celebration of a couple so OBVIOUSLY in love with a super fun group!

Another HUGE thank you to Janae Teclaw who helped me shoot this wedding. A few of her images are shown during their first look in this blog post along with the amazing close up shot of them in front of the green field that she shot while I was getting a wider angle. It’s always a pleasure having you along!

I’ve put up a couple of teasers for this wedding so these two may look familiar to you. I just couldn’t help it though, I LOVE this couple! I wish they lived here in Des Moines!! Even though close to a year had passed since they chose me to be their wedding photographer, Autumn greeted me with a big hug right in the middle of getting ready. She and all of her friends were just so much fun, and they are all just gorgeous so of course it was fun to shoot! Autumn’s shoes were the most beautiful combination of pretty and funky and she wore pieces of heirloom jewelry mixed in with pieces of her own. Everything came together perfectly! Plus, her dress was to die for!

They chose not to see each other before their ceremony, so by the time they got to see each other they were both feeling a little giddy. It was sooo cute to watch their anticipation as they got to see each other for the first time!

Their ceremony was short, sweet and filled with personal details that kept everyone laughing (all except for maybe the flower girls and the ring bearer – who cares when you’re that cute though… right?).

After the ceremony, we spent a little bit of time on pictures, a little bit of time on the party bus, and then headed to one of the craziest receptions I’ve ever shot!

Their reception was at the Scottish Rite in Des Moines, and it was stunning!

Seriously… how could I NOT love this couple? Dylan’s favorite color is orange!

The party started with all of the traditional stuff and then it got a little wild! This is one fun group! I even met them out afterward, which is something I RARELY do after a long day of shooting.

Even their grandmothers are fun!

And this is how the party ended… Autumn taking down her hair and leading everyone in a rap. If I remember correctly, it was Ice Ice Baby. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

Thanks again you two for choosing to have me there for your wedding. I really hope that we can keep in touch!
